Single serving coffee and tea pod machines are becoming very popular because they offer a perfectly brewed cup without having to brew a whole pot of coffee or heating water for tea. The pods are available in most grocery stores, or from a list of Bunn preferred vendors.

What is a coffee or tea pod?
Pods are single proportioned servings of ground coffee or tea that are encased in a round paper packet. Simply place a pod in the pod holder and let the machine do the rest. When you have finished brewing, remove the pod and discard. The My Café allows you to use standard tea bags as well, but the machine will extract more of the flavor from the tea bag, and do it a lot faster than steeping alone.

Here is how it works:

Step 1: Push the button at the top of the brewer to open the pod holder.

Step 2: Insert the single serving pod into the pod holder and close the holder.

Step 3: Press the coffee or tea button. This starts the water infusion through the pod.

Step 4: After about 30 seconds, remove your freshly brewed cup and enjoy.

Step 5: Just throw the biodegradable pod away.

No Waste Brewing System
Coffee or tea pods reduce waste because you only brew one cup at a time. There are no loose coffee or tea grounds to contend since they are neatly packed into a pod.

Instant Hot Water – Powerful Boiler
In addition to its ability to brew coffee or tea, you can dispense instant hot water for making cocoa, soups, instant cereal and other cooking needs. The boiler allows for up to 60 cups of coffee to be brewed per hour.

Durable Construction
Many of the parts including the pod holder, drip tray and water reservoir are dishwasher safe. The housing is made of durable plastic that won’t flex or bend like other pod machines. The drip tray and back splash (area behind the cup) is made of brushed metal.

Smart Brew Technology
Choose between coffee or tea brew settings. When you press the coffee button, the machine will exert the optimum pressure on the pod to extract all of the flavor and aroma from the coffee grounds. When the tea button is pressed, the machine automatically compensates for the less dense tea pod and pulses water through for a slower more precise extraction.

Universal Pod Holder
Unlike other pod machines on the market that require you to purchase their branded pods for their specific model, Bunn features the only patented pod holder that accepts multiple size pods from various manufactures from 45 to 61 mm in size – nice feature!

Variable Brew Setting
The portion/volume control permits brewing to your preferred strength from 4 to 12 ounces. The setting lever is located just under the coffee and tea buttons.

Water Tank
The water tank easily removes from the back of the unit for cleaning. Due to its 46 oz. size, enjoy several cups of coffee before refilling.

Unique Pod Holder
Bunn takes the hassle out of dealing with pods. Many other pod machines require you to actually handle the spent – often very hot pod. After brewing with the My Café, simply remove the pod holder and turn it up side down to discard the pod into the waste basket. Bunn included two pod holders to prevent residual flavor transfer if you are using tea pods or flavored coffee pods.

The advanced spray head requires occasional cleaning to prevent lime build up in the screen. Bunn included a clever device for cleaning, which resembles a long slender spring. Detailed instructions on how to use it are included.
